Wk 1:EDUC - 6162 - 3

Part 1: Establishing Professional Contacts: I hav emailed 4 individuals and yet to receive a response from either one, so I moving onto the Alternative for Part 1.

Part 2: Expanding Resources: I am toren between two of the websites that we could choose to resource and learn from. I chose Zero to Three and The PEW center of the states. http://www.zerotothree.org/   http://www.preknow.org/. I love learning about infants and toddlers and how we can build their social as well as their language skills and communucate with parents on these issues. However my heart and passion is with Pre-K children and laying the foundation for many fun, yet successful school years. The process that I went through to chose my website was as follows: I looked through all of the websites and I took what caught my interest and researched the website to see what it was all about. I am looking forward to looking at and learning from both of these websites thorughout this course and even beyond.

  1. Lori I am sure someone will respond to you but I admire how you are not stopping until you get a response. I think you should stay with your passion and that is pre-k so look at those website because those children are in jeopardy here in GA.

  2. I hope that someone respond soon. I had to remember that we are on different time zones. I would send an e-mail one day and check the next day for a response. Hopefully I will hear more on Sunday from my contact, because it will be Monday there.

I think you should follow your passion. There are so many developmental milestones we want to help empower in our children, but unfortunately one person can't do it all. I look forward to reading your blog and all of the exciting information you find out about these age groups.

  3. Lori,

Like you I had a difficult time choosing which website to review and have several that I have bookmarked and will review. I enjoy learning how other programs work and the strategies and curriculum they use. I have worked with both infants/toddlers and preschoolers. I am always torn because I enjoy working with both.

You may still yet get a response from one of your emails. I just received a response this morning from a teacher in Korea.

I look forward to reading your blog and learning more about the websites you are reviewing.

  4. Lori, none of mine have contacted me yet either but I hope they will by Monday. I chose Zero to Three also. I love infants and toddlers, watching them grow and learn. These assignments for this class seem very interesting!

  5. Hello Lori,

I share your passion for working with the older preschool children, but at the same time I also want to expand my knowledge in regards to the 0 to 3 children. The more information we have the more we can share with the families and work we do with the children.
I'm sure you will make the best choose Lori.

  6. Lori,

I also share a love and passion for Pre-k children. It is such a fun age group and they learn so much through what we teach them. I am a firm believer in play-based learning when it comes to this age group. My children learn so much through the "play" activities I plan for them!
